| I am researching the above names, most of which originate in Eire. My father, Peter Keegan came from the Longford area in Eire about 1919/1920 with his parents Peter Keegan and Annie Reilly, to Scotland. He married Christina Preston whose lineage goes back through Dundee, Scotland (Preston) and Cumbria, England (Gate). The only emigrant that I know of is Martin Preston to New York.My wife is a McGowan, grandparents McGowan, McDonagh, Connelly and Smith. We know of a Thomas Connelly married to Annie Hughes who emigrated to Calgary, Canada. There was also a John Smith who went to the Katangata, Otago area of New Zealand.Any information would be greatly appreciated, especially from Ireland about the Eire connections. |
