10-15-03: I am in the process of updating my FTM,stay tuned :). This is my family history on both sides of the family. The surnames on my Dad's side include:
BEASLEY-ABEL-JOHNSON-HAZLETT-MELTON,and many more from Oklahoma,California,Texas,Indiana primarily.
My Mom's side include:
LEWIS-BAYES(BAYS)-ROBINSON-BROWN-ANDERSON-ANDERSON-MILLER-KING-REISINGER-TWEEDY-COX-WOODLIFF-BILYEU-BIRDSONG-HANCOCK-HAGLER-ETHERTON-JONES-COCHRAN-ELLIS-JOHNSON-TYLER-WOODWARD-BIGGS,and many more,from Randolph,Jackson,Union,Franklin and Madison Co's in Illinois.
The main focus of my search has been my ggg-grandfather,Reuben "Killebrew" Lewis. He is my ggg-grandfather on my mom's side.He was born in Wales, moved to the Isle Of Man,schooled in Holland. He came to the the States by way of New York, went to Illinois, worked as a surveyor for the Illinois Central Railroad. He married Sarah Ann Bayes on Oct 30,1849 in Union Co,IL.I have verbal history and facts in my files contained here.
Sarah Ann Bayes-Lewis remarried after Killebrew left her, to Richard G Lindsey in Jackson Co,IL. She said she was a Widow, but tht was a cover for her. In those days, women often claimed they were "widowed" basically to save face, because their husbands left them. This fact about ggg-grandma Sarah, has been passed down in my family from her Grandchildren, etc.
I would like to thank all my known family and my new found cousins who have helped me with my search and have contributed to the information in my FTM.My parent's,Harold and Gena Beasley,my Great-Uncle Lloyd Lewis, cousins: Ted Lewis,Andy Anderson,Carole Morton,Randy & Sharon Jones,Charlotte Birdsong,Laura Ramsey,Lloyd Johnson,Steve Parker,Fran Chastain,Jane Ellis,Terry Martin,Duane Melton, Stephen Ray Miller,Sonny Marler,Aunt Edith Busby, both sets of grandparents,Chris Nadaeu,Cindi Frediani, and my new friends, plus everyone else I did not mentions here, who has and who is still helping as well as searching for their own records.
I do have some mistakes, and if you see something that needs to be changed, let me know.I have named my sources and include documents, pictures, etc.I will try to update my FTM when I can.
I am a newbie to genealogy, but already an addict.I now have a mission to fulfill and hope very much to find my Killebrew Lewis. Our Uncle Lloyd wants to know about his Great-Grandfather,and Uncle Lloyd is in his 90's now.
Hope you enjoy the info I have so far.And if we are cousins, please let me know. Thanks for stopping by,Darla :)
12-20-03: I would like to thank my cousin, Carole Morton, for finding and sending me the Marriage Lic's, DCT'S on Sidney S Anderson, Sarah & RG LIndsey, & Mary E King-Anderson.Without her help, I would still be searching.....thankyou Carole :)
