This page is dedicated to A KEEFER FAMILY established in the United States by BALTHAZAR KEEFER, a native of Wittenberge, Germany, who was born Febuary 20, 1812, and coming to this country, settled at Sunbury, Northumberland Co., Pa. in 1839. He was a printer and cooper, and followed his trade to some extent after coming here, working around the coal wharves at Sunbury. His wife ELIZABETH KNOEBEL, was born October 26, 1812, and was from the same locality as himself in Germany, where they had known each other, but they were married in this country about 1839.
