Notes for Peter Lahr: the son of peter Lahr and Barbara___________ he married Rebecca______________ca. 1852 in Snyder county, pa. peter enlisted for the civil war on Sept. 20, 1862, in the 147th Pennsylvania volunteer infantry. he fought in several battles, to include chancellorsville, Gettysburg, lookout mountain, missionary ridge, pea vine ridge and Ringold, GA. he was in sherman's march to the sea and the seige of Atlanta. shortly after the war peter, Barbara, and their five children moved to Lucas county, Ohio, near the town of maumee. there he served on the providence township board of trustees, along with his brother, Daniel, from 1865 to 1870. by early 1871 they had moved to Kansas, and were in republic county as of 1875. peter was still farming. by 1880 they had moved once again, this time to rooks county, KS., where they farmed some land. they had 3 children still at home. peter and Rebecca sold their land and house in rooks county in 1888 for $2,000.00 and moved to waubansee county, near the little town of alma. their son, mark, was with them. peter died between 1895 and 1900. Rebecca lived with daughter Sylvia, son-in-law Lemuel coulter, and their children. they were in Coffey county, Kansas. Rebecca died sometime before 1910.
