The John D. Walkers of Isle of Wight, VA, and Whiteville, NCUpdated May 28, 2012 |
On September 26, 1818, John Darling Walker married Elizabeth Joyner, the daughter of John and Sarah (Sally) Joyner, in Isle of Wight, VA. Conducted by John Clark, the marriage begins the story known to date of the John D. Walkers. The story is a work in progress that leads from Virginia to North Carolina to California to Australia and in between. The last John Drake (Darling) Walker, my father, passed in October 2011, after having lived a full life. My mother, a warbride, from Brisbane, Australia, was Gladys Mary Williamson. Folded into this story are the following surnames which I am researching in addition to Walker and Williamson: Allen, Shepard Joyner, Stephens Loyd, Watts Mayo, Wright Parker Pointevin(t) Sellers Watts |
