The Bendziunas (Bendzunas) Family

A year ago (2005) a second cousin contacted me about the Bendzunas family history. I had dabbled in it about ten years earlier, but had not seriously pursued it. My cousin wanted to create a wedding present for her brother. This re-ignited my interest in the Bendzunas family history. I soon learned that the correct spelling of the family name had been Bendziunas. Over the past year I have recorded over 200 hundred members of the Bendziunas family and am still finding relatives and recording information. I hope to organize a family reunion soon

    George and Anna were married in Waterbury, CT on June 19, 1917. Members of the wedding party are unknown
  • George Bendzunas with his brother Anthony (95 KB)
    Not much is known about Anthony. We was a wanderer, showing up at family members' homes, staying awhile and then leaving. It is said he worked for the railroad. He was found dead on the docks of New York City in the mid 1950s.
  • Wedding of Joseph Bendziunas and Anna Snipas (237 KB)
    Joseph came to the United States in the early 1900s after serving in the Prussian Army. He made many trips back and forth between the United States and Lithuania helping other family members come to the United States. He settled in Waterbury, CT
  • Marcella Jokubaitis with nephew Felix (121 KB)
    Marcella was the sister of George, Joseph, and Anthony. Felix is the son of George Bendzunas and Anna Grybyte Bendzunas of Oswego, NY
  • Mary Emutis with family (97 KB)
    Mary Bositis Emutis first lived in Oswego, NY. When her first husband died, her brother George came to take care of the family. Mary was not yet 18. She soon would leave Oswego. She married John Emutis. Her children were Josephine Bositis,Victor and Alice Emutis.
