13. SAMUEL ADKINS⁶ KEITH (RICHARD⁵, GEORGE⁴, GEORGE³, GEORGE², GEORGE¹) was born 04 Jan 1786 in Montgomery Co., MD, and died 19 Feb 1862 in Jennings Co., IN. He married (1) ISABEL PARKS 21 Aug 1811 in Scott Co., KY, daughter of JAMES PARKS and JANE BUCHANAN. She was born 22 Oct 1790 in VA or MD, and died 24 Mar 1849 in Greencastle, Jennings Co., IN. He married (2) ELIZABETH BUCKLES WILSON 06 Aug 1849 in Jennings Co., IN. She was born 1786 in Jennings, IN.

Notes for SAMUEL ADKINS KEITH:
It is thought that Samuel was born in MD - some records show Floyd Co., VA. He later moved
to Bourbon Co., KY and in 1815 to Jennings Co., IN, and after 1856 to Pike Co., MO. Due to his living in MO after 1856 there is some doubt as to his being buried in Jennings Co., IN.

On January 22, 1844 a Samuel A. and Ibby Keith deeded the Marion Township Keith Cemetery to the "board doing business for the County of Jennings." Some of the lots were set off to Mason P. Keith and Samuel A. Keith. This abandoned (Pioneer) cemetery is located in Marion township, Jennings County, Indiana, about four miles west of Paris Crossing and one-half mile north of the Muscatutuck River opposite the Humphry residence.

Some records mention a wife named Rebecca Parish. Samuel Keith was executor in Bourbon Co., KY for estate of Rebecca's father, William Parrish, 1814.

Some say he died at home of his son, Henry, in IL. However, Harvey had been disinherited by Samuel, and such conclusion is questioned.

Material details of this family, also found in a book by Darrell D. Morey, were largely supplied by Naomi Keith Sextion, a longtime researcher of the George Keith family of MD. There is a family sheet at the Scottsburg Library.
