Willkommen zu meiner Familie Seite
NEW LINK FOR GERMAN CONNECTIONS/NEUE VERBINDUNG FÜR DEUTSCHE ANSCHLÜSSE
I welcome you to browse, and am always glad to find searchers who can add branches, or repair broken ones. If you are visiting for the first time, I hope you'll bookmark this page, and feel free to contact me regarding the information you find here.
The first time I asked grandparents about my roots, the answer was "Mostly English and German..and a little bit Scots-Irish". Tho'this pacified me for a time, I grew increasingly passionate abut learning the specifics.
Cousins have now joined the quest, and our search continues in most states of the US, and has expanded to include England, Canada and Germany.
This page will always be a work in progress as new sources are discovered and more stories emerge.
The Descendants of Rev. George Gay as they appear here are based largely on the research of Auldine Elizabeth "Betty" Moss Morrow of Teague Texas. Sadly, Betty passed away in January of 2001, but her exhaustive collection of documents remains an invaluable legacy.
There will certainly be some glitches, and I welcome any corrections or additions from reliable sources. Because the earliest information about the Gay line is based on a local history of Sedgwick County which was published in 1888, there may be some 'ruffles and flourishes' which are inaccurate. We keep at it, hoping to document ALL the evidence, in order that this history is true to the greatest degree possible.
We still have missing links-most notably, Uncle Harry Edward Johnson, though it appears we are closing in on him. And the mystery of Sophia Klentz Juengling is largely unresolved, but the search goes on.
Photographs remain to be scanned, and they will be added as time permits. Please do check back often. And thanks for visiting.
