Dennis Dixon Kelly (son of Samuel Marion Kelly and Amanda Jones)409 was born January 26, 1867 in Graves County, Kentucky410, 411, and died September 15, 1942 in Ashdown, Little River Co., AR411. He married Ida Evalina Jones on February 04, 1912 in Murray, Calloway County, KY411.

Dennis lived with his parents until their death and remained at their homeplace with his spinster sister Nannie for awhile. After the death of his parents Dennis Kelly married. He traveled through Arkansas and Texas both with and without his family. He first took a train to Amarillo, Texas to find work. When he was unable to locate work there he went on to Big Spring, Texas where a cousin lived and worked for a while as a foreman on Slaughter Ranch. He bought a wagon and team and traveled to Aransas Pass (hauling freight ?) and then worked his way back to Kentucky. He then took his wife and children and hit the road again to Arkansas and Texas. In 1929 he and his family lived in Charley, Texas near Wichita Falls. He farmed, and also sold produce for a living. In 1935 he settled near Ashdown, Arkansas where he died. In Arkansas he farmed (grew cotton, raised hogs, milk cows, sold eggs).
