I am researching both the KELLY and KERR family names. My primary concern at this time is locating information on the KELLY family. My grandfather was James KELLY. He lived in either Mendota or Chicago hts. Illinois,up until at least 1904. He worked for a locomotive manufacturing company in that area as a supervisor for coveering locomotive boilers with asbestos. He bacame ill with "consumption" and went to Arizona for a short time prior to returning to Illinois to die sometime after 1904. His wife, Della Bierwirth KELLY, and her three children, Inez, James and George, left for California shortly after James' death. They located in the Berkely/Oakland bay area, finally setteliing in Oakland. James KELLY sr. had a brother Eugene, married to a woman referred to as "Ceil". They lived in Chicago at least until 1947. |
