Ray Henry Lyons (b. September 21, 1898, d. March 15, 1982)
Ray Henry Lyons (son of Harry B. Lyons and Virginia E. Kent Wilson) was born September 21, 1898 in LaPlata Missouri, and died March 15, 1982 in Kirksville, Missouri at Kirksville Manor Care Center. He married Waunita Trent.

Ray Henry Lyons was raised in LaPlata Missouri. As a young man en enlisted in The United States Armed Forces and served with the 14th Cavalry.. He later was transferred to the Coast Artillery in Fort land Me. During world war 1 in 1918. In 1928 he became a member of Company K National Guard in Kirksville Missouri. In 1946 he was commissioned as a Captain in the active reserve, 4th Missouri Infantry Regimental Staff Company B. For several years Ray worked for Montgomery Wards both in the Kansas City, Missouri and Kirksville Missouri area. He later worked as a Federal and State Game Warden in South Missouri. For a time he was employed as a salesman for the National Biscuit Company in Quincy Illinois. Ray was well known in Kirksville for the many years he drove a taxi for several companys before he retired. I Patricia Colyer Kelley Rays Grand Niece remember him well. He was a very kind man. The one thing that I remember about him the most is he never said a bad word about anyone! Or never talked about anyone unless it was something nice. My mother Mildred Lyons Colyer loved him dearly.
