Brown was 24 years of age when they were married and Mary Mcpearson was only 14 years of age. In about 1836 the family moved to Mercer County, Illinois. They had 7 children in Ohio and 6 children in Illinois. 13 in all. there were 10 sons and 3 daughters. Mr. John H. Brown died in 1874 and Mary McPhearson died in 1885.
