| I have been researching into the family background of the Kelly and Watmough families The Kelly family is based in the Isle of Man. Two of my grandfathers were town criers for the main town of Douglas and are mentioned in the Census of 1881 and 1861. The bell that they used to ring is in the local Manx museum. The Watmough family lived in the Wigan Lancashire area. There are many members of the family in the records of St. Katherines Church in Blackrod just outside of Wigan. The Watmoughs were clerks to the church, constables and brewers of ale. The other family lines I have traced are to the Gunn and Sutherland families in the north of Scotland and the McArdles pig dealers from Ireland |
