My ancestors Johann Kolbeck born in Vollmar and Katherina Hartl born in Osbuhl, both in Bavaria came to the US in the spring of 1900. Their children, Anna, Michael and Frances were born in Daberg, Bavaria. I can trace back my family history by six generations. Unfortunately, much information is still missing. I do not know much about my father's side, which is the Kelnhofers. I also don't know much about my mother's father's side, the Bells. We are a large family that set its roots in Central Wisconsin, specifically Marshfield, Hewitt, Bakerville, Rozelville, and the surrounding areas. Predominately farmers, the family grew rapidly. I constantly run into people I never knew I was related to. My goal is to find as much information as I can on my past. I am writing up a family history that can be preserved, and handed down to future generation. I figure the being 20 yrs old will give me plenty of time to do the research. Below is a list of surnames. If anyone recognizes them or has information they feel is relevant to my search, feel free to contact me. I will be as generous if I have pertinant information to give out. Happy genealogy hunting. :)
Kelnhofer, Bell, Hartl, Hansen, Wiltgen, Kolbeck...more to come!
