This Kelly Family history (currently) dates back to (approximately) the early 1800's with roots in Kingsboro, SC (the Pee Dee Region) Doc and Let Kelly, who were believed to be slaves are listed as the father and mother of this great family. Four children are identified with this couple: Tom Kelly, Robert Kelly, Babe Kelly and Sally Woodberry Ellison. Tom was married twice. With his first wife, Adline, they had six children (Jaro, Retha Jackson, Dora Laid Bradley, H, Laimus, and Elijah "Tunk" Sr.). With his second wife, Ella Blain, they had nine children (Italy, Prince Blain, Marie Meeks, Mattie Phillips, Nora Holiday, Lou Thelma Brown, Rock, Booker T, and Beado). Robert maried Ellen Brooks and together they had seven children (Hezekiah, Sr., Charlie "Bud", Fit Lee, Girlena Brunson, Luther, Had, and Robert, Jr.). Babe married Francis and together they had three children (Walter, Sr., Bubba, and Toddy). Not much information is known about Sally other than she was married twice, once to a Woodberry and once to an Ellison.

The Kelly Family holds its annual reunion each year during the last weekend of June at various cities throughout the US. The 2002 Reunion will be held in Charlotte, NC, Jun 28-30.
