Notes for Cathrine Gioconda Indrieri: Catherine used the name Jean most of her life. In interviews with her she repeatedly refers to her father Salvatore Jr. as a "mean bastered" She feels that she was denied her childhood after her Mother was confined to Ancora when Jean was about 12 YO. I think she blames her father for her mothers confinement ( " He put her away, She dident belong there, men could do that to their wives in those days" ) She felt that she was forced to raise her siblings and went from being a kid to a substitute mother of 5 overnight. She recalls that her brother Sam (Salvatore III) used to call her Mom which she discouraged. As soon as she was old enough she was sent to work as a maid at the hotel ambassadore in Atlantic City. She lived in the servents quarters at the hotel so that she could work long hours. Salvatore took all her income including tips She did hold out a little on the tips and hid a portion in the hem of the drapes in her room at the hotel Salvatore found her stash one day and was very angry, He took her little savings away. She reports that Salvatore Jr. was against her getting married to Alex (or anyone for that matter) because she was a good source of income. He hid her clothes so that she could not run away, but she eloped anyway. "Pop was a mean bastered" she says for about the 5th time in 2 hours.

Marriage Notes for Cathrine Gioconda Indrieri and Aexander Floyd Indrieri: Eloped to Willmington De.. Cathtine's Father Salvatore Jr. was against the marrrage. He locked all of cathrine's (Jean) cloths in a trunk in the basement so that she couldent move out. Alex boubht all new clothes for her and they eloped. She never saw those old cloths again and wondered what he ever did with them. According to Jean the reaason that Salvatore was opposed was that she provided a substantial contribution to the family income from her job as a maid at the hotel Ambassador in Atlantic City. Salvatore did not want to lose the income derived from his eldest daugghters employment.
