Eloped to Willmington De.. Cathtine's Father Salvatore Jr. was against the marrrage. He locked all of cathrine's (Jean) cloths in a trunk in the basement so that she couldent move out. Alex boubht all new clothes for her and they eloped. She never saw those old cloths again and wondered what he ever did with them. According to Jean the reaason that Salvatore was opposed was that she provided a substantial contribution to the family income from her job as a maid at the hotel Ambassador in Atlantic City. Salvatore did not want to lose the income derived from his eldest daugghters employment.
