| I am researching the following: I am searching for information on an Elva Fay Louise COFOED. Elva was born 16 November 1916 in Pipestone, MN. Her parents were William P. COFOED and Olga TOWNE or Olga OVERSHRUDDE. The parents apparently divorced?, and Elva was placed in the Elim Lutheran Children's Home in Elk Horn, Iowa when she was 3 years old. She remained there until she was 17. She had some correspondence with her father. She never heard from her mother again. When Elva left the home, she spent some time with her father and his wife Essie on Dayton St.in South Bend, Indiana around the summer 1934. (Essie had a son by the name of Dean Baker.) Do any of these people sound familiar to anyone? Any information would truly be appreciated! |
