I am looking for information on the WADELL, LASHBROOK, BREEDEN, ROWLANDS, GLENN, BIRD, THOMAS, MOORE, CAMPBELL, HARRISON or MOYER surnames. There was a family with four brothers that lived in Louisville, KY somewhere near the stockyards where many of them worked. JAMES A WADELL was one of four brothers (WILLIAM, JOHN, JOE AND JAMES) JAMES married ANNIE KINNEY and their only child was JAMES WILLIAM WADELL. JAMES WILLIAM WADELL, SR (DOB 9/5/1901) was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and was married twice. His first marriage was to ALBERTA GOOSE, and they had a son named JAMES WILLIAM WADELL, JR. Bothe JAMES SR and JAMES JR went by the nickname BILL. He divorced his first wife, and married FRANCES LOUISE LASHBROOK (DOB 11/28/1910) and they had a son named JAMES ALBERT WADELL (DOB 8/31/41). At this point they lived in Indianapolis, Indiana. JAMES SR passed away from cancer (brain cancer?) in approximately 1947-49.FRANCES LOUISE LASHBROOK was born in French Lick, Indiana to ALBERT LASHBROOK and OMA BREEDEN.JOHN ROWLANDS (DOB 9/14/1864) was an imigrant from Kenfig Hill, South Wales. He married ELIZABETH THOMAS also of Welsh descent. She was born in Wales and moved to the United States when she was three years old. JOHN ROWLANDS attained citizenship on October 3, 1888 in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The family was a Welsh coal mining family. JOHN ROWLANDS and ELIZABETH THOMAS had many children-ELIZABETH ROWLANDS, WILLIAM ROWLANDS, JAMES ROWLANDS, EMRYS ROWLANDS, FRANCES and STANLEY (twins) ROWLANDS, DAVID ROWLANDS, JOHN ROWLANDS, HOPKIN ROWLANDS, JOAN ROWLANDS, and THEOPHILUS ROWLANDS (my grandfather). The Rowlands' lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.THEOPHILUS ROWLANDS lived most of his adult life in Lower Merion, Pennsylvania with his wife ELEANOR GLENN MOYER (DOB 4/29/1902). They had a daughter named ELEANOR ANNE ROWLANDS (DOB 8/18/39).ELEANOR GLENN MOYER's father was J. BIRD MOYER (b. 12-18-1872). J. Bird's parents were Theodore H. MOYER and Mary E. BIRD. He apparently sold dental supplies, but I also believe that he was an instructor of chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania. The MOYERs as they are traced back were a Mennonite family who fled from the State Church's persecution in Switzerland to the Netherlands and then on to Pennsylvania. The first MOYER to come across the big pond was a Christian MOYER in approximately 1700. He bought property in Montgomery Co, PA and was a farmer. When he received his proclamation of ownership of this property, it was signed by the sons of William Penn (founder of Pennsylvania). ELEANOR GLENN MOYER also had a sister named NANCY MOYER who died at an early age of the 1918 Flu (Spanish Flu) which killed in epidemic proportions that year.J. BIRD MOYER'S wife's name was ANNA CAMPBELL GLENN. She was the daughter of EDWIN F GLENN and REBECCA CAMPBELL. She had 2 siblings named SOLOMON GLENN and JOHN F GLENN. **NOTE** For more information on the Glenn's, see Dinsmore Glenn's homepage through Family Tree Maker. The GLENN and MOYER families are also of Pennsylvania, MONTGOMERY CO, and also probably PHILADELPHIA CO.ELEANOR ANNE ROWLANDS married JAMES ALBERT WADELL. They had two children, LARA ELAINE WADELL (ME!) and KRISTEL HEATHER WADELL.I have the LASHBROOK's of Orange Co (French Lick) IN traced back to England in the 1700's and the MOYER's of Montgomery Co, PA traced back to the 1500's. It's too much information to post here, so if you are interested, please contact me directly. If you have any information which may be helpful to me in my genealogy search, it would be appreciated, and I am also willing to share any information that I have. THANK YOU!
