I am researching the Walls and Castine families of Napoleonville, Louisiana and Detroit Michigan. The earliest recorded person is Dorsey Castine born June 1857 who married Amelia Bailey who could have been married to a Gauthreaux previously. The families may have worked and lived on the St. Thomas Plantation. The earliest record is the 1880 census shows a "Dosey" Cartine 35/b/m/head of house. The couple would have been married sometime before Sept. 1882. I am also researching the Walls family. The earliest records indicate James Albert Walls, Sr. was born in Burtie, Louisiana in 1898, the son of Tom Walls and Delia Coleman who may have been married at one time to Dave Norris. |
