The Fleming Family Home Page

I am researching the FLEMING Family from Rowan County, NC. The Fleming Family is a very large family, branching out over NC, NJ, MD, and GA. That is not to exclude any other states. But, the roots of the family seem to be NC. I am fourth generation,and we have identified over 300 relatives. This are relatives that are currently living. We are afro-american, but that excludes no one, as you well know.
I have been able to trace my roots back to my great-grand father, Tom Fleming,(born about 1840/1850) who was married to Matilda "Tillie" Torrence. This union produced around 17 children, whom we have been able to identify most. It's the grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great, and so on that we are trying to identify, as well as Tom's siblings.

Salisbury, NC, which is part of Rowan Cty, NC seems to be the focal area of this branch of the family. This area includes Cleveland, Mt Ulla, Newton, Salisbury, to name some of the towns we have found relatives.
