The family of Richard Clyde Kelley and Lellie Gordon Tiller is currently undertaking a search to trace their roots.Richard Clyde Kelley was born in Hanover County, VA on February 11, 1871; Lellie Gordon Tiller was born in Henrico County, VA , October 28, 1878. They married in Henrico County, VA on March 29, 1899 and had seven children, all born in Henrico County, VA: Sarah Mildred (February 18, 1900), Elwood Watson (August 3, 1902), Russell Cylde (November 29, 1904), William Ossie (January 15, 1907), Robert Hammond (December 1, 1908), Lemuel Atwell (November 8, 1911) and, Lewis Thomas (August 22, 1914).
The family settled in the Brook Hill area of Henrico County. They owned Stukely Hall, just north of the Richmond city limits, on Norwood (now Azalea) Avenue and operated it as a dairy farm. Richard Clyde Kelley died at the age of 47, on March 20, 1918. The family continued operating the dairy farm until it was sold in the late 1920s.
An initial effort to develop a family tree was begun in the early 1960s and contains considerable information from 1871, forward, through the late 1960s. This page represents a current effort, begun in 1999, to further develop the family 's history.
We are particularly interested in the ancestors and immediate families of Richard Clyde Kelley and Lellie Gordon Tiller prior to 1871.
