They came in 1854 from Bavaria, Germany.
Philip Kempf was born on 19 April, 1829 in Bavaria, Germany and died 21 January, 1899 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He resided on 1748 Jester Street.
Apolonia Albert Kempf was born on 17 October, 1835 in Germany and died 4 March, 1874 in Cincinnati, Ohio from scarlet fever. They resided on 470 Plum St. at that time.
I observed Philip Kempf and family in the 1880 census and he was listed as a peddler of notions.
At the time of his death Philip was listed on his death certificate as a shoemaker! Philip and Apolonia Albert Kempf had ten children, two which died at birth. All were born in Cincinnati, Ohio!

Church of St.John,the Baptist,is where Philip and Apalonia Albert Kempf were married on February 8,1857. This church still stands today. Can one imagine what Cincinnati was like in 1857! This is our beginning. Michael Kempf was born this year to Philip & Apalonia! God bless our ancestors!
