The Kennel family came to Nebraska through New York state and Ontario, Canada. The first helped organize the Mennonite church in Lewis County, New York then moved on to Wellesly,Ontario. The descendents eventually moved on to northern Nebraska.

    Born in New London, Conn. Married Gilbert W. Johnson in 1850, moved to Pikeville, Tenn. in 1851 or 1852. After the war, they moved to Nebraska to farm land bought from the CB&Q railraod. (picture 1905)
  • Peter Ottoson 1848-1917 (11 KB)
    Peter Ottoson was born in Denmark in 1848. Emigrated to U.S. and was married to Lucy Johnson in Bureau County, Illinois in 1873. Came to Nebraska in 1885 and purchased 80 acres in Saline County.
