Oral family history has it that 4 immigrant brothers came over from Scotland around 1775 to avoid persecution for taking part in some kind of Irish Rebellion. The four brothers are James, Martin, Charles, and Garnett Kennedy. One James Kennedy married an Elizabeth Martin. I do not believe this James Kennedy was one of the four brothers because this James Kennedy was born in 1795 in New York. Perhaps his father or grandfather was one of the four brothers.
I have been working on my family tree for many years and with the help from family and friends and the research I discovered my family has come from the following places. England, Germany, Italy, Norway, Scotland, Sweden, the Pomo Indians from northern California and maybe the Cherokee Indians from North Carolina.
