Notes for Henry Gore:Henry Gore 1736- 1791 was progenitor of Gore families settled in Southern West Virgina.His ancestry can be traced to 1658whe his second great grandfather, Hohn Gore, settled in Lancaster County, Virginia.His great grandfather, Joseph Gore Sr. 1650 -1717 and grandfather Joseph Gore Jr. 1675-1726 spent their lives in this area.His father, John Gore1703- 1769 married in May 1725 to Mary Maderas 1707, After their children were born, John and Mary moved to Culpepper County Virginia, where they spent the remained of their lives, Henry later moved to New Market.
Henry Gore's first wife, Margaret, and eight children : Lydia ; Elizabeth ; John 1761-1833; Sarah; Isaac 1765-1848; Eleanor; Margaret and Ann Two of these sons migrated to Tennessee, six daughters married and remained in the area.Henry Core remarried May 2, 1779 to Anna Catherine Keller 1761-1840, and had five additional children by her: Joseph 1780 ;Robert 1783; Nancy 1785; James 1787; and Henry 1791.
After Henry's death at New Market, Ann Catherine disposed of his holdings in Mew Market, and she with 5 children accompanied her brother Conrad Keller, to the Island Creek area in what is now Summers County, West Virginia.Here on Feb. 25, 1793, Ann Catherine widow of Herny Gore, Married Henry McDaniels by who she had two children: Margaret, who married Wilson Lewis and Isaac, who married Elizabeth Dunn.
Six of Ann Catherine's children left Island Creek and reared families els4ewher.Joseph and his wife, Martha Pine, and their 13childern settled in Logan County.Nancy married her step brother, Willism McDaniel by who she had 19 Children; James Gore had 9 Children, 8 by his wife Sarah Farley.Nancy , James Margaret, Isaac and their families moved to Indiana in the 1830's.Ten of the 11 Children of Henry Gore Jr. and his wife Susanna Sweeney, migrated to Missouri.
The second wife of Henry McDaniel, Sr., was Anne Katherine Keller Gore.Henry McDANIEL Sr., and Anne Katherine Keller Gore were both married for the seconds time on Christmas Day in 1793, in Greenbrier County, Virginia ( now Monroe County Wes Virginia ).She was originally married to Henry
Gore on May 2, 1779, in New Market, Shenandoah County, Virginia ( Source: the Gore family Bible from the Sarah Riffe Collection).Henry Gore was born September 10, 1736, in Christ's Church, Middlesex County, Va. ( source: Old Gore Family Bible From the Sarah Riffe collection) D. April 1, 1791, in New Market, Shenandoah County, Va. however, another source indicated that Henry Gore was killed by Indian son New River. Anna Katherine Keller's parents were Conrad Keller (listed on 1810 census of Monroe County, Virginia)and his wife Helen M.N.U.
Henry McDaniel, Sr. first wife was Mary Ann and her maiden name is believed to have been Porter, a daughter of Ambrose Porter who died in 177, in Pittsylvania County Virginia.
