To find out where I'm going, I have to learn from where I've been..and that includes the 1,000s of members of my family that came before me. Through each of these people comes a little part of me, and my children and their children and grandchildren to come.
I started my research about 8 years ago. My mother's parents were divorced when she was a small girl, and she knew virtually nothing about her parental side of the family. I began my research on her maiden name, GAY, and even tho that side is still the most elusive after all these years, my list of names has grown to also include not only GAY, but also CURRY, HARRIS, HESTLE, JOHNSON, LOVELESS, MISSELDINE, and on my own paternal side, OWEN, AUER, BALDWIN, SWITZER and ZIMMERMAN.
