This page was created by Steve and Susan Kennard. We are limiting our research to the following surnames: Kennard and Arnett from the Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan area. Wilson and Williams from northern Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The Wilson line has been traced back to Allen Wilson (1791-1873) of South Carolina who married Nancy Cantrell. His son, William Lenoir Wilson (b. 1822 in South Carolina and d. 1899 in Jefferson County Alabama) is Susan's great great grandfather. Unfortunately, we have no further information on Allen Wilson. The Williams line goes back to Sherrod Williams, Sr. (1776-1831) married to Mary Ann "Polly" Looney (1781-1854). They lived in Sweetwater Valley, North Carolina and later settled on Duck River in Tennessee near the Franklin County seat of Winchester. However, Duck River was in Maury County, Tennessee. They owned a large tract of land which is still known as Williams' Cove. They had 18 children. Susan is descended from their son, Absolum P. Williams (1814-1857) who married Susannah Holland (1812-1857). We are only just beginning the research into the Kennard and Arnett families of Kentucky and Ohio. We will update as soon as we get some solid information.Any information you have is greatly appreciated. We will be glad to share the information we have.
