1. JOHN2 SHARP (WILLIAM1) was born 1753 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and died 1823 in Union Co., Tennessee. He married MARGARET MARY 'MILLIE' MAYFIELD 1782 in Pennsylvania, daughter of ELIJAH MAYFIELD. She died 1870.

OHN SHARP:
John Sharp was one of the earliest settlers of Hickman County, Tennessee. The name of his wife has never been found.They lived in Washington County, Pennsylvania arround 1785 or 1786, then moved to Kentucky (Jefferson Co. and Shelby Co.) Godspeed lists them the first settlement made in Lewis Co. was made in 1806 by John Sharp and family (sons William, Edward, Nehemiah, Samuel and Joshua, along with Elijah, Samuel,and James Mayfield) on Swan Creek. Also that they came from Kentucky and settled on what is now known as the Jones Vincent Place on the Upper Swan. Later they moved to Tennessee.

3. ii.   John Sharp, b. 1783, Maury Co., Tennesse (then S.C.)/Pennsylvania; d. 1852, Lewis Co., Tennesse.
4. iii.   Nehemiah Sharp, b. May 14, 1784, Pennsylvania; d. July 1870, Union Co., Tennessee.
5. iv.   Edward Sharp, b. January 17, 1787, Jefferson Co., or Shelby Co., Kentucky; d. February 14, 1866, Perry County, Tennessee.
  v.   Joshua B. Sharp, b. 1792, Kentucky.

Joshua Sharp was on the 1820-1830 Wayne County, Tennessee census. Then he appears in 1850, Bond County, Illinois, census (b.1792, KY, children born in TN)

6. vi.   Margaret 'Peggy'Sharp, b. 1794, Kentucky; d. 1880.
7. vii.   James Sharp, b. 1799, Kentucky; d. Bet. 1860 - 1870, Perry County, Tennesse.
