Notes for John BLAINE:
John Blain served in the Revolutionary War under Capt Wiliam Blain
(brother), Hathorn's Regiment, N.Y. Militia from 7 Oct 1777 - order says
he appeared at Minisink in May 1781 and was discharged then. Another note
in the copies of military records shows him on Capt Blains list on May 5,
1777 and deserted on May 18th.

  Notes for Samuel BLAINE:
I am not sure this is the correct parent for Nathaniel and James[blaine4..FTW]

Through eliminating other Blaine's, I believe Samuel was in the right place at the right time to be the father of Nathaniel and James. It's possible there was a William and a Robert also.
Some history sent to me by the Ovid Historian, Gail Snyder lists as members of the First Baptist Church of Romulus, which was constituted in June 1975, Absalom & Peter Bainbridge, John Green, John Finton, Mrs Sally Sayre, Mrs Denton, Samuel Blain & wife and Elijah Abbott. Samuel was buried in the Kendia Cemeter, Town of Romulus, NY.
