The Berning Family

Updated July 14, 2001

The Berning family originated in Germany and members began immigrating to the United States in the mid 1850's. The family came from an area near Hille, Westphalia, and many of the individuals who married into the family are also from the same region. The primary occupation of these immigrants was farming.
