| I am interested in finding out more about my history and the routes that my family have planted in many different places of the world. My father's last name is Kiffmeyer and he is of the first generation born in the US from his German family that came to Clear Lake, MN to find a home. His mother's maiden name is Imholte and she also grew up in the Clear Lake area. She came from both English (Mosfords) and German heritage. My mother's maiden name is Hollinder. She is the second generation born in the US to a Swedish father that found his way to Clear Lake, MN as well and a mostly German mother with a maiden name of Brown. Rumor has it that my grandmother Brown came from descendants that had been French gypsies. I would like to be able to validate this information. My father's great aunt was also a Red Cross nurse during WWI and I have in my possession many letters that she wrote while she was stationed in France. I would like to learn more about her history as well. History is what builds us and makes us who we are, so that is why I search for my history. |
