Maternal grandparents were Annie Belle Herring and AmmieRobert Bass of Sampson County, North Carolina.Parents of Annie Belle Herring were Montgomerry Herring andSusan West.Paternal grandparents were George Luther Detter and PearlMae Huffman of Catawba County, North Carolina.Husband's maternal grandparents were William James Zillig ofNewburgh, N Y. He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY on 7-17-1875.Married on 2-23-1900 to Anna Rachel Bird . She was born inLondon, England on 2-19-1873. She lived near Stokes PagesChurch and also lived near Windsor Castle. She left England on a sailing vessel when she was about 15 years old and was at sea in blizzard of 1888. She lived in America with her aunt and uncle Alice Albrow Rankins and Rufus Rankins in Troy, NY.Rufus was from Canada. He was a mailman and a carriage stripper. William Zillig open the Zillig Funeral Home in Newburg, NY and upon his death, his son Howard William Zillig ran the funeral home for many years. He sold the funeral home when one of his best friends was killed in a car accident and he had to pick up the body. Husband's paternal grandparents were William James Kiley and Anna Kiley. They lived in Watertown, Mass . They immigrated to the US during the potato famine in Ireland. Hope someone can help me with any info on any of these people.
