According to Doris Killory, Mary was at Marcia's house not feeling well. They took her into Boston's Deaconess Hospital and they found that her heart was in very poor condition. She had been having spells of forgetfulness and really getting mixed up.The reason was she wasn't getting enough oxygen to the brain because of the heart condition. She had valves replaced but never regained consciousness. Then her heart failed so then there was no hope. She is buried in Blue Hills Cemetery along side George.
