John H. Killory, 92 of Quincy, a retired comptroller, died Thursday at home, after a brief illness.
Mr. Killory worked as comptroller for the Revere Sugar Refinery in Charlestown.When the United Fruit Co. bought the company, he retained his position.He was employed 40 years for the two companies before his retirement 28 years ago.
Mr. Killory was a member of St. Ann's Senior Citizens in Quincy and the National Association of Accountants.
When he worked in Charlestown, Mr. Killory was active in the Kiwanis Club that sponsored the Boys Club in Charlestown.
Mr. Killory was born in East Weymouth and graduated from Brockton High School.He was the youngest graduate of the Bentley School of Accounting, now Bentley College, when he finished there in 1921.
Mr. Killory lived in Brockton before moving to Quincy 61 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Lida J. (Levangie) Killory; a son John F. Killory of Quincy; two daughters, Ardelle M. Sweeney of Venice, Calif., and Anne L. O'Donnell of Quincy; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Ann's Church.Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visiting is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street.
