From Denmark in 1889, a family of 8 came to Albert Lea, Minnesota. Their name was changed from Godskesen to Goskesen and Goskeson. This one family is the only one that has this name in the US. I have not found it in any other country. Other names that will appear are: Guttormson, Jensen, Pederson, Baumgartner, Gifford, Peterson, Naeve. Most of the lineage of this original family is still in the Southern Minnesota region. Between Albert Lea and Austin. The sixth generation, now in adulthood, is slowly moving out of the general family home area. My interest is in finding family that came from Denmark, or stayed in Denmark, who did not configure the name in the same manner. I did find that Jens Christian Godskesen was the son of Godske Christianson. His wife was Margareth Jensen. I would also like to find some line of her family, both forward and backward. |
