The Alvin Kilburn ( Kilbourn) Family Home Page

Just beginning a search for ancestors of my husband, Alvin N. Kilburn, b. Willimantic, CT 1/23/1933; son of Wilbur William Kilburn, b. Little Rock, Arkansas, January 19, 1891. Wilbur settled in Connecticut as a young boy and was a carpenter, later working at the American Thread Company in Willimantic. He married Corine Bernier of I'slet, Canada and they had eight children. I have not yet been able to confirm the following short history found among Wilbur's belongings:"Alvenus Kilbourn born in Poultney, VT, son of Abraham born in Litchfield, CT November 15, 1759, died in Poultney, VT, 1806. He was the son of Isaac, born in Litchfield, CT in 1737, died in 1807, son of Abraham, Esq. born in Wethersifeld, CT 1708 died 1767. He was the son of John born in Wethersfield, CT 1651, died in 1711. He was the son of Sergt. John, youngest child of Thomas and Frances. Was baptised at Wood Ditton England, 1624, was about 11 years old when he came to America."
