MEALER'S of Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and so on...

Updated May 2, 2013

I am researching George W. Mealer. He first appears on the 1850 Gilmer County, Georgia Census, with his parents John and Anney Mealer. George W. Mealer marries Sarah C. Hyde in Dahlonegha, Georgia, Lumpkin County, on July 24, 1861. They end up in Alabama. One of their children, Robert G. Mealer is my great grandfather. Robert G. Mealer married 1st-Jessie L. Stallings (she died around 1920 and is buried at Forest Hill Cemetary in Gaylesville, Alabama, Cherokee County). His 2nd marriage was to Alice B. McDonald. I believe Robert G. and Alice B. Mealer ended up in Walker County, Alabama. I need help with this line. Any help on this line, from the beginning to the end, would be appreciated. I will gladly share any information that I have.

I am also researching the Jessie L. Stallings line of my family. Jessie's father was Samuel Stallings and her mother was Mary Cooper Stallings. They resided in Cherokee County, Alabama. I believe that Samuel's parents were William and Catherine Stallings of North Carolina.
