| This home page is dedicated to the Kimbrough Family descended from John I, John II, Bradley, Thomas, Jeremiah, Ira, James Mendenhall, and James M. Kimbrough, Sr. It is hoped that knowing our ancestors, will enable us to know more about each other. We are members of an amazing family. John I arrived in America in the 1660's, a full one hundred years before the American Revolution. He helped colonize the Virginia colony. John II did the same. Bradley pushed the frontier into North Carolina. Thomas fought in the Revolutionary War. Jeremiah moved to the Ohio Territory when Indian's roamed the forest's. Ira was a Justice of the Peace. James Mendenhall fought in the Civil War as a member of the 79th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. James M. Sr was a businessman and respected member of his community. We've been colonists, pioneers, farmers, soldiers, blacksmiths, mill operators, county trustees, and wagonmakers. We've donated land to churches, and helped build schools. We've been Quakers, doctors, store owners, city councilmen, pharmacists, railroadmen, and who knows what else. As you look at these pages, keep in mind that I would like to include your information as well. And your children. And in some cases your grandchildren. Can it be that some of the son's and daughter's of Jim Jr, George, Mary and Bob have grandchildren? Seems like it was just last week that we were all going for the brass ring at the merry-go-round in Riverside Park! Finally, a special thank you to Uncle Jim and Aunt Mary who started gathering information on our family years ago, and were so willing to share it with others who were interested. They would be thrilled to see it in a manner that can be shared with all the family. James M. (Jamie) Kimbrough |
