3. EBENEZER³ FAY (SAMUEL², JOHN¹)⁸ was born April 12, 1713 in Westboro,Massachussetts, and died October 13, 1790 in Sturbridge,Massachussetts. He married (1) ABIGAIL ? 1738. He married (2) THANKFUL HYDE September 19, 1739. He married (3) MARY MASON 1765.

"He settled in Sturbridge near Attom Pond at a point which took the name of 'Fays Cove' which was then in the midst of a dense forest of one mile or more from where there had ever been any public road.He afterwards built on a portion of his large tract of land near the residence of Cyrus and John Fay.
"He was very fond of fishing in the pond above named and he used to go on horseback and get his saddlebags full of fish, this was after his removal from Fays's Cove.
"Some of his children lived to a good old age, his son Jonathan was nearly 100 years old at the time of his death and the wife of Jonathan also lived to be 100 years old." [Fay(1898),p.203] This is the book by Orlin P. Fay.
