Obituary of Mary Fay

ILION-- Mrs. Mary P. Fay,
71, of 62 Spruce St., died this
morning in Mohawk Valley
General Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 11,
1905, in Ilion, the daughter of
John and Ernestine Niener
Phillips, and educated in Ilion
schools. She was married to
Elvin (Duke) Fay in 1928 in
in Ilion. Mr. Fay died in
December 1963. She had
resided in Ilion all her life.
They operated the Black and
White resturant in Ilion Gorge.
Mrs. Fay was a member of
the Ilion Presbyterian Church,
and a member and past president
of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by one son,
John C. of Ilion; two daughters,
Mrs. Calvin (Mary) May of
Cobelskill, and Mrs. Robert
(Ernestine) Johnson, of Herkimer;
ten grandchildren; one greatgrand-
child, and several nieces and
nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m.
Friday at the Applegate Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Maurice
Mitchell, pastor of the First
Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Armory Hill Cemetery.
Calling hours are Wednesday and
Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The Ilion American Auxiliary will
meet at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday,
to conduct their services.
