William Fox came to this country with the English in 1770. He left the English and went to the American camp and appeared before General Morgan who asked him why he left the English Command. His reply was "Sir, the English fight for money. I understand the Americans fight for liberty--give me liberty or death." Morgan's reply was "Go, brave boy, choose your Company. William Fox fought the Revolution and settled at George's Station, SC (Now known as St. George) - Source: The Fox Family Bible at Rantowles, SC, in the possession of Mike Fox.
