Oswin Holland King and his family were early Texas settlers, migrating from Orange County, NC. Branches of the family moved on to various parts of the Southwest, from Texas to California. Nowadays they are located in all parts of the U.S. Two of his children achieved some notoriety: Thomas Herman King became a wealthy ranch owner and banker in Greenville, Texas; John Caleb King became the first sheriff of San Bernadino, California and grubstaked a prosperous mine, the Silver King. The family tree, as researched through 1997, appears on FTM CD #15, Tree #1763. |
