TheKingston Family from Elton-London (1530-2009)

I am researching the Kingston family from Elton in Huntingdonshire England,The village of Elton has changed from county to county throughout history from Huntingdonshire to Cambridgeshire and now it is in Northamptonshire.
I am having problems going back beyond 1530s, this date is before formal records were kept in England.
A branch of the Kingstons settled in Utah USA in the1850s.
