Hello!

Does anyone know the parents of Georg(e) V. Stettler 1739-1815, Samuel Stephenson/Stevenson/Stinson b. 1770, or William Caffee b. 1739. There are many variations of the names, as usual.

We have been searching for thirty five years, having been given the "genealogy bug" by my Father and Mother Kermit and Fern Caffee Stetler, and by my Grandfather Emmanuel Stetler.

I descend from George V. Stettler who lived in Bethel Twp., Berks Co. PA in the 1700s. George had his son Henrich baptised at Altalaha Church on Easter Sunday 1769, in Rehrersburg, Pa. Around 1804 he moved to Union Road SW of Miamisburg, OH (Montgomery Co.). Then, in the 1830s my line moved to the Mercer and Van Wert County areas of Ohio, where I live now. All research points to George marrying Eva Catherine Moyer, though I have no marriage records or other positive proof. Other descendants of George V. Stettler moved up into Indiana.

A late fellow researcher suspected that George V. was the son of a Henry Stettler b. 1706 and buried in Leydick's Burying Ground in Montgomery Co. PA, but that George is not in Henry's will.

We suspect that the STETTLERs are from the Palatinate area where Germany and Switzerland are now... there are STETTLERs there now but I have not been able to make the trans-Atlantic connection.

We are also researching my mother's line CAFFEE. Our earliest CAFFEE anscestor was born in 1834, William CAFFEE. William's wife was Charlotte WILSON. Family legend has it that William was either from KY or IL. My CAFFEE line lives in OH and IN., although JOHN CAFFEE moved to Texas.

Also, there is my wife's STEPHENSON/STEVENSON family. Samuel Stephenson was born in 1770 and lived in Muskingum Co. OH before coming to Mercer Co. OH. He was married to a Catherine ALLER. Family tradition says the STEPHENSONs were Scot-Irish.

Finally, the Suzuki family is our subject.

Check out the names in the Report Section at the bottom of this page. If you are looking or have any information please write or call or you can email or fax me.

God Bless, and Best wishes in your searching!
