| I am interested in descendants and ancestors of Eld. Levi Kirkland born about 1778 in South Carolina. He and Dicey Bruce Kirkland lived in Humphreys County, Tennesse from about 1807 until their deaths in 1852. His parents were Thomas and Lucretia (Lucy) Cotton, and his grandparents were Snowden and Sibbel Kirkland. The first fairly certain ancestor of my line is Richard Kirkland of Fairfax County, Virgina who died in 1752. His first recorded appearance is in Baltimore County, Maryland, in 1699. Other family lines I am pursuing are Asher Lyon 1792-1863 of Scott County, Virginia; Zachariah Fugate 1792-1842 of Scott County, Virginia; William Chappell Lowry 1830-1902 born in Alabama,resided in Smith County, Texas from 1852 until his death in 1902 |
