| Ron and Sue Kirkland are both from Amite County, Mississippi where our ancestors have lived for six generations. Amite County was founded in 1809 and the court records are available in the County Court House from 1806. Our Amite County names of our family are: Kirkland, Morgan, Caston, Barron, Smith, Bates, VanNorman, Haman, Hogan, Ford, Cox, Duck, Sites, Wilkinson, Dixon, Shaw, Whittington, and others.Ron is pastor of the First Baptist Church of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Sue teaches first grade at Bragg Elementary in West Memphis, Arkansas.
