| I have recently begun to research my husband's family. Not much is known about them, as my father-in-law was an only child. His name was Erik Kjar b.7 March 1904 in Battle Creek, Iowa / d. 7 April 1988 in Ida Grove, Iowa. His parents came to the Ida Grove, Iowa area from Denmark. Their names were Peter Kjar b.23 June 1875 North Schleswig, Denmark / d. 23 June 1958 Battle Creek, Iowa and Inger Christine Petersen b. 28 December 1870 Copenhagen, Denmark / d. December 1958 in Battle Creek, Iowa. Peter's father was also named Peter Kjar b. 7 December 1838 in Denmark / d. 10 March 1909 in Battle Creek, Iowa. His wife was Katherina M Varner b. 18 March 1838 in Denmark / d. 26 November 1902 in Battle Creek, Iowa. This Peter's father's name was also Peter, but I don't know any dates on him. Inger Christine Petersen, the grandmother, was the daughter of Peter Petersen and Annie Safia. I have no dates or locations on them. I would like to find any information on the Safia line as I know nothing about her yet. I'm even unsure of the nationality. Thank you, Joni Kjar |
