My name is Júlio César Klafke and my research includes all the individuals having the KLAFKE surname in the world (and its variants KLAFKY, KLAFKI, KLAFFKE, KLAFFKI, KLAWKE, KLAWKI also). I hope to map the migration path of that family through Eastprussia (1400-1945) and so to South and North America, Germany and so on.

All the KLAFKE in Brazil descend of Anton KLAWKI/KLAFFKI and Anna GRUNERT who had married in 06.20.1798 in Peterswalde, Kreis Braunsberg, Ermland, Ostpreussen (now Piotrowiec in Poland).

The Anton's ancestries were from Tolksdorf, a village near Peterswalde. There Caspar KLAWICK (c. 1530) was the first KLAFKE in our branch.

Anton had died in Peterswalde but two of his children and one grandson emigrated to Brazil in the middle of 1852. Later it came still two other Anton's grandsons. They had established in the small locality of Rincăo Del Rey, Rio Pardo, Rio Grande do Sul.

Johann KLAWKI, that's my 4th grandfather, his brother Ludwig, a nephew of both named Carl, and Peter KLAWKI had been the first ones. Later arrived Anton KLAFFKE, in 1857, a Carl's brother, and so Johann KLAFFKE came in 1869. They came from the small village of Plauten leaving they parents and a sister, Veronika Klafki, whose great-grandson, Georg Weiss, is living in Germany!

I'm also seeking the BIEGLER surname. My maternal grandfather, Wilhelm Herbert BIEGLER was born in Leipzig, Germany, in 1902, and came to Brazil in 1920's.

If you wish to share other informations about the KLAFKEs email me, please.
