I am currently researching decendants and ancestors for my family(Klug and Ziemke) and those of my wife, Margarita(Rita) Frew Cochran with the following surnames: Cochran, Carter, Wright, Frew, Berry, Bradford, Pierce, Homer. The Klug's origins are in Bohemia(then Austria) from where they migrated to the US(port of Boston) circa 1883 and the Ziemke's origins are in Prussia, from where they migrated to the US(post of Baltimore) circa 1893. Both families settled in northern Wisconsin in Taylor County. My wife's family are of Scotish, Irish, and English descent, with the Bradford's arriving on the Mayflower, followed closely by the Homer's and Pierce's, with these families settling in an around the Boston area. The Carter's and the Cochran's arrived from Scotland in the early 19th century settling in the New York City area. The Wright's(Rita's maternal family) arrived from Ireland eventually settling in Pittsburgh by way of Louisana, Kentucky, and St. Louis before Rita's grandfather moved to Pittsburgh as a young man. He married into the William Namick Frew family of Pittsburgh who had immigrated from Scotland in mid 19th century. I am willing to share data now in our files. |
